FlyBe A Regional UK Airline Goes Into Administration For 2nd Time In 3 Years

Regional carrier Flybe has suspended operations and canceled all scheduled flights after going into administration. The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) made the announcement and urged passengers with tickets for travel with Flybe not to go to the airport. The CAA stated that anyone who needed to travel will need to make their own alternative travel arrangements via other airlines, rail or coach operators. Flybe, which had been based at Birmingham Airport, returned to the skies in April 2022 after an earlier collapse and had been purchased by Thyme Opco, linked to US hedge fund Cyrus Capital. The CAA and the government have stated their immediate priority is to support those affected by the collapse, including employees who have lost their jobs and passengers trying to get home. No information has been given yet regarding refunds for tickets purchased before Flybe went into administration.
